Summer Camps and Contact Days Summer 2022

To participate in summer camp activities and contact days. Please go to https://www.altonathletics.org/main/campsclinics/  or call 618-474-1800 for more information. Camp dates and sports are listed on the website and forms can be brought to the Athletic Office at AHS. The Summertime is a great time to get involved and work on the various skills of your sport. Go Redbirds!

The Alton High School Girls Golf Team will begin summer practice starting June 7th @10 am at Rolling Hills Golf Course. If you are attending summer school during those practice times, please let me know and you can start practicing when school lets out.

  All skill levels are encouraged to play. This is a no cut sport!

  We will work on all parts of the game to improve your skill level.

WHERE: Alton High School (Wrestling room) 4500 sq. feet of mat space- Facing front of high school, drive around to RIGHT side of bldg, and enter there.

Summer practice will begin Tuesday June 7 from 9:00-10:30 at Glazebrook Park. Breakfast to follow.

There will be different locations and times to allow all runners an opportunity to make either the morning or evening runs.

Tuesday Practices are June 7, 14,21,28 July 5,12,19  AM practice 9:00-10:30

Wednesday Practices are June 8,15,22,29 July 6,13,19  6:00-8:00 pm at Alton High School CC course.

Thursday Practices will be held at AHS track for speed and agility work June 9,16,23,39 July 7,14,21 .  From 6:30-8:00 PM

Things to bring to practice:

Water, Running shoes, GREAT ATTITUDE!!!

Mental tips to having a successful summer program

  1. Improve everyday
  2. Believe in yourself
  3. Keep a routine
  4. Replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts
  5. Repeat and practice your running rhythm
  6. Turn your weakness into your strength

It is important to get in summer mileage to have peak performance during the cross country season. On the days that we do not meet, it is important to put in mileage.

Some of you will be a member of the AHS cross country team for the 1st time and for some of you this will be your last season as an AHS cross country runner.  Make it a year that you will always remember!!  Show up and work hard

 

The coaches will communicate with you thru group me about any changes during the summer workouts.
