Redbirds Girls Track places 3rd at Kahok Invite - The Telegraph - 4/28/2017

PREP GIRLS TRACK: Tigers, Redbirds place 2-3 at Collinsville Invite

The O’Fallon Panthers ran away from the field to win the Collinsville Invitational girls track meet on Friday at Kahoks Stadium in Collinsville.

The Panthers scored 204.5 points, with the Edwardsville Tigers (142 points) and Alton Redbirds (89) coming home 2-3. Belleville West (78), Collinsville (70), Belleville East (69), Chatham Glenwood (62), Triad (55.5), Hazelwood East (24) and Jersey (nine) completed the 10-team field.

The Redbirds won three events. Jeanea Epps was first in the 100 meters in 12.66 and second in the 200 in 25.44. Kellie Mans took the 400 in 1:01.80, and Ty’Riss Holloway won the pole vault in 9-0. Alton also got a third-place finish in the 4×100 relay, with Rashia Johnson, Alleyah Tuggle, Epps and Holloway doing a lap in 50:45. High jumper Katie Mans did not compete in the meet.

Most of Jersey’s points came from a runner-up finish in the 4×400 with Anne Snyders, Abby Manns, Lexi Liles and Kiara Chapman posting a time of 4:10.21

Edwardsville won the 4×400 with Rachel Kubicek, Victoria Vegher, Jaydi Swanson and Lorie Cashdollar running a 4:07.17. The Tigers also took the 4×800 relay with Jaycie Hudson, Cashdollar, Elise Krone and Melissa Spencer in 9:50.64.

Savannah Maloney gave the Tigers big points in the throws. She won the discus at 115-10 and was second in the shot up at 32-11.

Edwardsville also had a day in the distance races. The Tigers finished 1-2 in the 3,200 with Julianna Determan (11:45.62) and Hannah Stuart (11:46.75) finishing more than 45 seconds ahead of the field. Abby Korak won the 1,600 in 5:12.02, and Victoria Vegher won the 800 in 2:24.30.
