Cress/Schwartz Team place first at Centralia Tournament

The duo of Clint Cress and Joe Schwartz shot a 4 under 66 at Greenview Golf Course in Centralia to place 1st in the Centralia Invitational Tournament. The competition is a 2-man best ball format and Cress/Schwartz turned in 5 birdies and 1 bogey for a 2 stroke victory over a 2nd place Centralia team. The Alton Team placed 3rd in the tournament overall - with a score of 222. Belleville West won the team event with a score of 218. Other Alton scores were Charles Orman/Alex Rubin shooting a 77 and Mitch Kug/Sam Ballard shot a 79.

The Redbirds play in the Southwestern Conference Tournament on Tuesday at Belk Park. The team is currently tied for 2nd place in the conference.
