Breese Central 49, Alton 27
The Cougars earned their title date at the Alton tourney by beating the host Redbirds to complete bracket play. Central is 2-0. Alton is 1-1. Breese Central moves on to the Championship to take on Jerseyville at 7:30 pm Saturday night.
The Cougars used a pair of 11-point quarters to lead 22-11 at the half and extended the advantage to 40-17 by the start of the fourth quarter. Germayia Wallace scored 10 points for the Redbirds, who added seven points from Jimmiela Patterson and six from Danita Smith.
Central got a game-high 17 points from Cassidy Kretschmer, with Chloe Book chipping in nine points for the Cougars. Lady Redbirds will play for 3rd Place on Saturday night vs Breese Mater Dei.
