AHS Fall Contact Days

Alton Students:

Hope the new school year has started off well for all of you and you are doing well academically. The various sports will be starting up with contact/practice days next week. Not all sports will be utilizing these contact days, but if you are interested in a sport here at AHS please contact the individual head coach at his/her contact info at the bottom of this email for times and dates. We will provide an activity bus to take student-athletes home, but you will responsible for finding your way to campus.

Cheer and Dance will actually be holding tryouts since they were not able to hold tryouts last spring.

All Student-athletes need to have signed the COVID waiver on file in the AHS Athletic Office before participating in these tryouts/or fall contact days. Can scan it and email it back or drop it off at any time before next Tuesday. This is a new COVID waiver form that is different than the one many of you signed this summer.

All persons must always wear masks inside as well as to and from their practice site/contact location. Students participating in physical activity outside while social distancing are NOT required to wear a mask.

·All contact days are on a strictly VOLUNTARY basis.  Students will not be penalized for non-participation. The various sports will have the IHSA mandated 20 contact days to use

·We will have the equipment to take temperature so that we can monitor student wellness.  Andy Renner, Alton HS ATC, will assist with this process in the multipurpose room for sports on our campus or coaches will conduct temperature checks. Every student-athlete will be recorded and tracked each contact day

·Students will enter and exit the building through the multipurpose room. Locker rooms will not be available in the building. The weight room in the main building will be available and disinfect daily when used

·We can use balls, equipment as long as disinfected daily and teach the skills of the sport.

·Players shall bring their own mask, water bottle, shoes, towels, and other personal equipment. The use of locker rooms shared water coolers with cups, and water fountains will be prohibited

·Mask should be worn properly covering the mouth and nose at all times.
